‘Easy open,’the can says. Yeah right! What sadist invented these ring pull cans? I cannot believe I am the only person on the planet that has trouble with the supposedly easy open ring pull cans. In fact I know I’m not as I have seen others end up in the same situation, which makes me feel better.
Each time I attempt a ring pull can, I either end up looking at the ruing pull in one hand and the can in the other entirely separate. Or a can I still can’t get open. If he is around I usually hand them to my husband. The other alternative is a normal can opened to do what it appears I am incapable of. If it won’t work on the can right side up, it will usually work if I turn the can upside down.
If I am out and Mick is not around, it means I can’t buy a can of drink with a ring pull on it. Instead I opt for a bottle of drink.
It may made me wonder how many of these other so called easy ways of doing things actually have made life harder for people. I’d love to hear from any of you about inventions that have made life harder rather than easier.
However one I do like is the food processor. It used to tae ages chopping to make tabouli. As a result I didn’t make it as often which was a shame as it it something most of our family love. We’re all big fans of Lebanese food. Tabouli, Baba Ganoush and Lebanese bread is a good casual meal option or as a side dish. Yes, there is a way of doing all that for people who are gluten free, which sounds like it might be the topic of my next food blog.
Making Tabouli is so much quicker now I can throw the parsley and mint and onion or shallots into the food processor.
I’d love you to tell me about a favorite home appliance or tool and the ones you have trouble with.
