A Review of “Just Dance”

Well I took the plunge a couple of weeks ago and bought “Just Dance” for my Wii. I had two reasons for doing it. One was to relive some of the 80’s and 90’s, and the other was to incorporate dance into my fitness routine.

Now before you get the idea that I am any good at dancing, let me assure you that my rhythm remains to be seen…however, it doesn’t really matter what you do in the privacy of your own home, does it?

Now mind you my kids did snicker when I excitedly showed them my new dance video game. They were probably thinking, “There goes mom again, trying to live in the past.” But let me tell you, this has definitely been a worthwhile purchase.

I absolutely love “Just Dance.” I am able to enjoy some of my old favorite songs and get in a pretty good workout. In fact, I get a better workout than I thought I would.

“Just Dance” offers a great warm-up you can do before getting down to boogey. Each song you choose also gives you a choice between a short version and a long version. And it’s fairly easy to copy the moves of the dancer on the screen. You can definitely tell that some aerobics are being incorporated into some of the dance moves.

Now there are other fun features like a dance off which you can challenge others on, however I haven’t been able to use that since no one has accepted my invitation to join me. Truth be told, I think my kids are just afraid that I might have some groovy dance moves after all and they don’t want to know.

In the end, I can tell you that I am very glad I purchased “Just Dance.” I am starting off with using it two times a week and plan on working my way up. It gives you a great workout, while having a lot of fun at the same time.
