The Queen of England has just received a Christmas present that will be hard to top—-a healthy new grandson.
British newspapers are reporting that the Queen’s youngest son, Prince Edward and his wife Sophie Rhys-Jones are proud new parents of a baby boy.
According to the BBC, the 42-year-old Countess gave birth via caesarean section a few hours ago. The newborn is eighth in line to the throne, though his parents have yet to name him.
When asked about a potential name Prince Edward reportedly told the media gathered outside the hospital that he and his wife didn’t know if they would be having a boy or a girl so they hadn’t decided on a name. What’s more, the prince added: “You have to at least get to know the small person who’s just come into the world before you actually try and pick a name.”
Regardless of his full name, the child will reportedly take the title of Viscount Severn.
The newest royal joins his 4-year-old sister Lady Louise Windsor.
Prince Edward confirmed he was present at the birth of his son and revealed that his wife was expected to remain in the hospital for the next few days.
Prince William and Prince Harry’s uncle also added that his son was “like most babies, rather small, very cute and very cuddly”.
I’m not sure that’s how Helena Bonham Carter and her director beau Tim Burton would describe their new baby, but they are delighted to have the latest addition nonetheless.
According to PEOPLE Magazine, the couple welcomed their second child—–a daughter they have yet to name—late Saturday in London.
The new baby joins his 4-year-old big brother Billy.
The baby’s arrival comes just days after both Bonham Carter and Burton got the good news that they were nominated for Golden Globe awards for Sweeney Todd – she for best actress, he for best director.
Finally, actress Jill Hennessy and her husband Paolo Mastropietro are getting used to life as parents of two children. They welcomed their second son late last month in New York.
According to news reports, the couple named their newest offspring Gianni.
The infant joins big brother Marco, who is four.
