There’s nothing nicer than a gift someone has taken the trouble to make for you. At our recent Ladies’ Christmas evening at church to which a large number of ladies come faithfully every year, there was a display up the back of the hall of handmade gifts. Some included handmade wreaths for the front door made out of colored material, Christmas tree ornaments, the traditional Christmas cake, my chocolate ginger slice wrapped up in a basket of colored cellophane, and a patchwork quilt. There were others but I can’t remember them.
Other ideas are bookmarks, photo frames, and children’s mobiles to having above the cot. These are so easy to make even I managed to make some when my daughter was a baby and without a stitch of sewing involved but just felt, glue, and shop bought eyes for the animals.
Padded photo frames covered with material or covered tissue boxes might be another idea. But in many ways you can go past something people can eat. This sweet lemon slice which is suitable for those on a wheat and gluten free diet will disappear very quickly.
