A Sunday in the Life…

I love my dogs.

As I type, Lally is walking over and around the laptop (one of the perils of sitting on the bed to work). Moose is laying on the floor beside the bed, occasionally treating me to an SBD.

But really, the most special part of the day was our walk earlier. I got home from work at the cats only boarding facility just after eleven. Like every other morning that I work, I stop long enough to drop off my purse and keys, grab the leashes, and head out with the dogs for a walk.

Barely ten feet out the door and Moose stopped for a potty break. His poor stomach must be upset — it was a three-poop walk. I was ready to cook up some rice to settle his stomach when I got distracted.

Lally walked past Moose and brushed against his rump. She ended up smeared with poop from waist to shoulder. GROSS!

So much for any other plans. We hurried back home and Lally and I got to take a shower together. I guess I’m lucky — Lally requires a bath far less frequently than Moose does. She doesn’t get that dog stink that Moose gets after a couple of months, and she doesn’t get the dandruff that Miko would get after a few weeks. She’s a nice, clean dog… outside of the occasional smear.

I remember a walk not long after Lally joined the family (and before we’d met Moose). We were at the local park with a friend and his dog. Suddenly, Lally started rubbing her face against the ground and came up smeared with something that smelled just awful. We guessed that something had died there — that’s how bad the stink was.

My dainty little girl… every once in a while, I guess you just get that wild hair and need to roll in something stinky.
