I have a theory on the universe I thought I’d share here. I may be so far off that many will think I’m nuts, but like I said, it is just a theory so thanks for hearing me out.
Many people have opinions of outer-space; how big it is, whether other life forms exist, how big God is… I really think God’s ways, specifically referring to creation here, are so beyond our puny minds that we will never have it figured out.
A friend of mine told me an interesting theory she had about aliens. She believes there could be other life forms out there. I told her I didn’t really believe there were other bodies per se, because of the relationship God has displayed with mankind throughout the Bible; how we were make in the likeness of God etc… She further pondered whether He had another Earth-like planet somewhere else where “mankind” may not have sinned like Adam and Eve did. It boggled my mind too much to even go there. I shared with her a theory I had instead:
I know that without the sun, we would likely not be alive. We need the atmosphere we have, the gravity, the axis of our Earth; everything seems to be divinely placed to promote our continued existence here. I started to think beyond our solar system too. Just what if God divinely created all the universes to sustain our Earth and our existence here? I know it’s a mankind-centered thought to think the whole outer-space actually “revolves” around us. If God were to create something else like other life forms, would He do so in a way our human, Earthly, God-designed brains could never comprehend? I don’t know to be honest. Even if it’s not relevant, it’s fun sometimes to wonder.
I guess I just like to imagine God’s love for us so big. Though mankind has sinned against Him, He lived among us and paid the ultimate price to save us. God, who created the heavens and the Earth, loves us so much He divinely put our Earth in a place where life could sustain. It’s fascinating for me to think beyond our own solar system and consider the part other galaxies and universes might play in sustaining us.
So my next “out-there” question is where is heaven? Is it another dimension or what? Anyway, there’s some food for thought in thinking about the awesomeness of God and how little our minds are to his infinite wisdom and power.
