With less than a month to Valentine’s Day, can I suggest you start thinking about a Valentine treasure hunt? I can thank my little granddaughter for this idea.
She is right into treasure hunts and makes a lot of them up. She is always giving us or other family members little slips of paper with clues on them which tell us where to look for the next clue. She gets a big kick out of watching us search for her next clue. It occurred to me the other day as Mick and I were involved in following her treasure hunt clues that with it could easily be adapted to make a Valentine treasure hunt.
The first thing you will need for a Valentine treasure hunt is to sit down and make a list of your spouse’s good qualities., because that’s what the treasure hunt is going to be about. When you have your list of good qualities for your spouse then you need to make up an appropriate number of clues, depending on the length of time the treasure hunt will continue and how many good qualities you have. Then hide your clues in the spots you have chosen.
You could space it our over a week or even longer if you like, rather than just all on the one day. Each day your spouse is given a new clue telling them where to look for their treasure. At that site they will find a piece of paper telling them one thing you will love about them as well as the next clue, so in a way they are collecting a little bit of treasure with each clue.
At the end of the treasure hunt you will have a Valentine’s Day card, or a poem and a gift, or a booking for a restaurant for a special meal or the promise of a special romantic dinner at home, whatever you decide. This will be the final treasure though of course along the way your spouse has learned they themselves are a treasure and all the reasons why you treasure them.
