Lunch box
Ever opened your child’s lunch box and about passed out when you smelled the contents? It’s hard to get the lunch box smelling fresh again, but for whatever reason – it isn’t when you have Vinegar handy. Dampen a piece of bread with vinegar and put in the lunch box overnight. We’ve also had luck with a piece of paper towel though too.
Tummy Ache?
Although it sounds odd, and tastes pretty disgusting, it actually works, I can honestly say I tried it…once. If your stomach is upset, try drinking 1 teaspoon of vinegar mixed with ½ cup of water. Within about twenty minutes you should start feeling better. Not recommended if you are having diarrhea.
Get Rid of the Grass
We all have patches of grass in various locations in our yard or growing in the cracks of our sidewalk that we would really like to make go away. To get rid of them, pour white vinegar on them. Be sure and pour the vinegar on odd places too such as the cracks and crevices in your driveway and sidewalk. It’s a totally safe product, pretty darn cheap and non-toxic. The natural way to remove the grass!
Zany Azaleas
I love Azaleas. I found out a tip a few years ago from a friend. Add two tablespoons of vinegar to a quart of water and add it around your azaleas occasionally. Azaleas, in addition to several other flowers, LOVE acidic soil and this concoction is the perfect natural way to keep them beautiful!
Salt Stains
You know what I’m talking about. When the big storm is coming and the streets are covered in salt. The salt gets on your shoes and boots, and can stain them. In order to remove the salt stains, wipe the shoes with a solution of equal parts of warm water and white vinegar. The sooner the better. Be sure and polish boots and leather shoes that require it immediately after removing the salt stains.
Smoker’s Miracle Cure
Vinegar can’t help you quit smoking, but it can help eliminate the odors. If you smoke inside your home, or have allowed someone to smoke inside your home, place a small bowl of white vinegar somewhere in the room. Leave it in there for a day and come back. The odors should be gone. This also works for other smells such as pet odors and paint fumes.
