Whenever a store has a bag sale, it is worth it to take a look, even if it isn’t a store you normally shop at. The best thing about a bag sale is that you can get a great deal. If you have never been to a bag sale before, there are some things you should know before you go. The store will supply you with a bag, which often is paper, but sometimes could be plastic. In some cases, these bags will have something printed on them that refers to the bag sale. You will not be allowed to substitute your own bag for the one they give you. However, after you check out, you can re-bag your purchases into your own cloth or canvas bags if you prefer.
The best part of a bag sale is that you get a lot of control over what is included in the sale. Everything you can fit into the bag will be sold at a specific, and clearly stated, discount. It can range from 10% off the original price to 50% off or even higher. If a store is having a bag sale to clear inventory because they are going out of business, you might get an even bigger percentage off. You get to choose what you put into your bag, and this freedom of choice allows you to tailor the bag sale to your advantage.
Ace Hardware is having a Bag Sale this weekend, for one day only, on Saturday, February 26, 2011. They suggest you take this opportunity to pick up all those items you need in order to complete the “To-Do” list of things that need repairing at your home. You will save 20% on “almost anything” that you can stuff inside the bag they hand you. Power tools and small appliances that you put into the bag will be at a 10% discount. Naturally, all the items you put into the bag must remain inside their original packaging, (or else the clerk behind the register will not be able to ring it up for you). Each customer is limited to one bag, so fill it wisely.
Some items are not included in the bag sale at all. The sale is not valid on grills, lumber, building materials, fuel, bagged fertilizer, or merchandise that was already on sale or clearance. You cannot use the bag sale to get discounts on city stickers, Ace gift cards, or online purchases made from the Ace Hardware website. You must shop the bag sale on Saturday, February 26, 2011 if you are going to take advantage of this deal.
