Achooo! Please Pass the Tissue

Colds, flu, allergies, and every day hygiene mean that families go through lots of tissues. What kind of tissue do you use in your home? Do you choose different types for different needs?

When I was a kid, tissue was tissue. We called it all “Kleenex” in a generic sense, even though Kleenex is a brand name. Kleenex tissues are one of the lines that I buy frequently. That or Puffs. Puffs have been around a long time too. There are of course other brands, including store brands, but these two are the brands I normally buy. They come in a variety of types for different needs and an assortment of packages. You can even customize your own packages of Puffs.

Kleenex Anti-Viral Facial TissueEven when there isn’t a great need for it, I usually still keep some store brand everyday tissue on hand. For colds or flu, I like Kleenex Anti-Viral to help avoid spreading whatever is going around.

Puffs Plus tissuesFor allergy season, when my poor nose begins to feel like it will fall off from so much wiping, I prefer Puffs Ultra or Puffs Plus. The first is extra strong and soft and the latter contains lotion as well as vitamin E and aloe. It soothes the skin and helps keep it from becoming raw.

I also keep a box of tissues in the car, send boxes to school, keep a pocket pack in my purse, and generally always have a tissue handy. It pretty much goes with the territory when you have four kids. During heavy use seasons, I pick up the extra large family packs and make sure we have a back up on hand.

Some people don’t have a preference when it comes to facial tissue and just grab whatever is on sale. I’m all for saving a buck, but there are times when it’s worth it to pay just a little more for the higher quality brands like Kleenex and Puffs.

Do you have a preference when it comes to facial tissue?
