Now that you know the basics of creating an alphabet scrapbook, you can take the project to the next level. By incorporating unique ideas and elaborate embellishments you can turn an ordinary ABC book into a letter book masterpiece.
Favorite foods, movies and songs, are great themes to use for individual letter pages, but don’t limit yourself to just those ideas. Other themes that can spice up your layouts include:
*Favorite inspirational quotes or Bible verses
*Favorite vehicles
*Favorite people
*Words that describe the book’s subject
*Important accomplishments
*Milestone moments
Keep in mind that when you design layouts for alphabet scrapbooks you don’t have to stick to one basic format. Rather, exercise your creativity and adjust the format to suit your photos and memorabilia. For example, if you want to make a smaller book, then feature two letters per page. Conversely, if you want to make a larger letters of the alphabet scrapbook, then do a double page spread for each letter and give yourself extra space to journal.
If you are too busy to make an entire alphabet scrapbook from scratch, then consider purchasing templates or books that include basic layouts with slots for photos. If you are working on a budget, then buy a standard scrapbook and handwrite the letter title for each page. Doing so will make your book even more personal. Plus, you will save a ton of money on additional die cuts and stickers. You can save even more money if you handwrite photo captions too.
Keep in mind that most pre-fab alphabet scrapbooks feature colorful embellishments and busy backgrounds. If you feel that the backgrounds on these books will interfere or compromise your photos, then consider converting your pictures to black-and-white or sepia tones, so the photos don’t compete with the existing layout color and design.
