What if you were only three and your name sparked revulsion everywhere you went? That seems to be the case for little Adolf Hitler Campbell, a cute little blonde boy with big eyes who was denied a birthday cake at a local New Jersey Shoprite because the employees did not want to write his name on his birthday cake.
The parents of the little boy are upset about the decision made by the supermarket and can’t seem to understand why the store would refuse to fill their order for a birthday cake. They also seem upset and surprised to find that there are a number of negative Internet postings about them after the story was printed in a local paper.
The parents of little Adolf also wanted the cake to be decorated with a swastika for decoration. The Shoprite said that they retain the right not to write or print anything on a cake that they deem inappropriate. The Campbell’s subsequently got their cake order filled at a Wal-Mart in my home state of Pennsylvania.
The bigger question to me is why on earth would you want to name your child, a precious little life, on a man responsibly for one of the worst horrors in our history–a man responsible for so much death and suffering? Mr. Campbell’s told the Associated Press that they chose the name because they liked it and knew that no one else in the world would have the same name. Uh buddy? There is a good reason for that.
The Campbells say that they aren’t racist, but something else is going on here. The names of their other two children? JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell. Mr. Campbell is of German decent and says he was raised not to mix with people of other races.
Hmm, I wonder if they voted for Barack Obama?
