Now that we’re coming to the Adventures by Disney trips in Europe and North America, I will have to break up these sections into even smaller increments because there are so many travel options. Today I will focus on Adventures by Disney’s trips in England, France, Ireland, and Germany.
Adventures by Disney offers two separate trips in England and France: the Gateway to London and Paris tour and the England and France Family Vacation. Despite the names, however, both seven-day six-night tours include only London and Paris. I find that a bit disappointing, because many of the other Adventures by Disney trips travel around the featured countries a bit more. Still, the details are enticing.
The Gateway trip bears its name because although it provides a few guided options around its featured cities, less of the provided time is planned thus allowing guests to do more exploring on their own. Adventures by Disney is merely the gateway into these countries, not the entire trip around them. The Gateway tour includes a double decker bus ride around London, a visit to Westminster Abbey, a skyscraping meal in the Eiffel Tower, and a scavenger hunt around the Louvre.
Those who want a more guided trip around these two famous cities should check out the England and France Family Vacation. It includes all of the above options, but also has a smaller traveling group, more set lunches, a private Versailles tour, tickets to see “The Lion King” in London’s West End, and a slightly nicer set of hotels.
If you prefer a trip entirely on continental Europe, consider vacationing in Germany. The nine-day eight-night Germany vacation includes biking and archery in the German countryside, a two-night stay at a fairy tale 11th century castle, an interactive trip to the Steiff Bear Museum, whose company founder Margaret Steiff invented the teddy bear, and of course, a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle, the famous inspiration to Walt Disney for his Sleeping Beauty castle at Disneyland.
Those who want to travel to the Emerald Isle should consider Adventures by Disney’s eight-day seven-night trip to Ireland. Guests will spend three nights sleeping in the famous Dromoland Castle, take an early morning cruise on the Lough (lake) Leane hearing tales weaved by a seanachai, or storyteller, spend two nights in Dublin viewing the ancient Book of Kells and having a private lunch at the Guinness Storehouse, and spend several days exploring many of the ruggedly beautiful sights Ireland has to offer.
Each Adventures by Disney trip described above is an average price of $3,500-$4,000 per ticket for adults and $3,000-$3,500 per ticket for children. The Adventures by Disney tours book your hotel rooms for you and complete most of your travel arrangements as well. The one exception is the Gateway to London and Paris tour, where you’ll be responsible for departure transfer to the airport between Paris and London.
