Ireland is one of those places we all see beautiful photos of and wish we could visit someday. Adventures by Disney makes it possible for us to not only visit Ireland but make the very most of our visit by hitting all the exciting spots and then some.
On your first day, you’ll arrive in Dublin and be met by an Adventures by Disney representative who will assist with your luggage and transport you to your hotel. Upon arrival at the Westin Dublin, you’ll have some time to unwind before the welcome reception and dinner. At dinner you’ll meet the other families that will share your adventure while dining in a private room at the hotel.
Day two begins with a Dublin City tour where you’ll visit the Dublin heritage center, Christchurch Cathedral, Dublin Castle and the Guinness Storehouse. You’ll enjoy a family lunch at the Guinness Storehouse and then enjoy some free time on your own that afternoon and evening.
On day three you’ll journey to Cashel and explore the medieval buildings that crown the hilltop of Tipperary’s Golden Vale. Then you’ll go to Killarney where the Town Squire will welcome your family and guide you on a tour of the area. After settling into your room at the Killarney Plaza Hotel and Spa you’ll enjoy dinner at Mentons while your kids enjoy food and fun separately with the Adventure Guides.
On day four, you’ll take a horse-drawn cart to Muckross House, an historic Victorian estate that borders the picturesque lake in Killarney National Park. You’ll dine like aristocrats at lunch there and then explore the manor’s 65 rooms with a local expert. Your afternoon and evening are free for biking or strolling along the lake and exploring Killarney.
Day five begins with an early guided tour of Killarney National Park and continues with an eco cruise on Historic Kenmare Bay. Then you’ll have free time to explore the town of Kenmare. You’ll then return to Killarney and enjoy traditional Irish dance lessons and tasting of authentic Irish cheeses. Dinner will be on your own.
On day six you’ll travel to Inch Beach on the Dingle Peninsula and join a local naturalist for a stroll on the beach. Then you and your family will enjoy the Adare Heritage Center followed by lunch on your own and time to explore. Later that afternoon, you’ll arrive at Dromoland Castle where you’ll stay for the next two nights. That evening you’ll eat, dance, sing and make merry at the castle.
Day seven will find you traveling to the Burren, where erosion has left behind ribbed sheets of limestone that the locals call “karren.” Vegetation thrives in the rocky crevices, making the area excellent for grazing animals. Then a trip to the Cliffs of Moher will have you gazing over the 700 foot cliffs to the ocean below. You’ll then have lunch at a seaside pub. Your afternoon will be spent on a working Irish farm where you’ll learn how to make scones, shear sheep and bottle-feed a baby lamb or piglet. That evening you’ll celebrate at your own private farewell feast while enjoying the singing of a traditional Irish Balladeer.
On your final day in Ireland, you’ll enjoy breakfast at the castle hotel while your guides take care of your luggage and arrange your transportation to the Shannon airport.
Pricing for this adventure varies from $2,299 to $3,399 per adult and is less for children.
