Adventures by Disney: Italy and The Alps

After facing yet another hectic Christmas at home or running around visiting relatives, does getting away for the holiday season sound appealing? Then maybe you should think about taking an Adventure by Disney in Italy.

Disney has four different travel options for Italy, only one of which currently offers tour dates in late December of next year. So let’s start our off our look at Adventures by Disney in Italy and The Alps there.

The Italy Family Vacation takes its group through Rome, Tuscany, and Venice over 9 days and 8 nights. Your whole family will have the opportunity to enroll in a Tuscan pasta making class, followed by a picnic lunch enjoying your creations.

In Rome you’ll experience a privately guided tour through the Vatican City Museum and Sistine Chapel, and will have time to wander through the Coliseum, Forum, and Pantheon. In Venice you’ll get a gondola tour and the opportunity to create your own Venetian Carnivale mask.

If you’d rather have a less guided trip through the boot-shaped country, consider the Italy Gateway tour. Like the identically-named tour through England and France, the Italy Gateway takes its travelers over 8 days and 7 nights to many of the same spots as the Italy Family Vacation, but gives them much more free time to explore on their own. Instead of going to Tuscany, however, Italy Gateway guests travel to Florence, where they’ll make their own pizza lunches instead of pasta.

The final AbD tour that covers Rome, Tuscany, and Venice is the Italy Signature Family Vacation. Like the other Signatures before it, it also covers many of the same activities, like a tour through Rome and a Venetian gondola ride, but guests stay at ritzier hotels. On your 9-day 8-night tour for the Italy Signature trip you’ll also visit a glass-blowing factory on the island of Murano, which is located in the waters above Venice.

Those who want to explore more of the beautiful central Italian countryside should take a look at the Central Italy Family Vacation. It travels through more rural areas while stopping at the cities of Florence and Sorrento over 8 days and 7 nights.

Revel in a private boat tour to the Island of Capri, where you’ll have the chance to relax on the beach and swim in the Mediterranean. Wander through petrified streets in the city of Pompeii, learning the details of the ancient tragedy from a local historian. View Michelangelo’s David at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence, and spend days cooking and biking through the countryside.

If you prefer snowy mountaintops to the Mediterranean, consider instead Adventures by Disney in The Alps. The Alpine Family Vacation actually starts in Italy, in the northern mountain-scraping town of Stresa, before moving on to Switzerland.

While reading about the details of the 9-day 8-night trip my pet-loving brain immediately zeroes in on the Hike with the Huskies, wherein guests visit a Swiss husky dog camp to tour the kennel touting a variety of sled dogs. Other highlights include a cruise along Lake Como to explore the Italian Isola Bella, zip lining in The Alps, biking along Lake Lucerne in Switzerland, and more.

The Italian and Alpine Adventures by Disney are absolutely packed with activities, so if anything here has piqued your interest be sure to check out the details on the official website.
