Okay, I have a challenge for folks out there. I talked about getting myself out of bed this morning and staying on target with your fitness goals. Someone suggested affirmations to me and I have no idea why I didn’t mention them earlier because I use affirmations and I have several decorating the pin boards around my desk.
An affirmation is a simple, short statement that goes straight to the heart of the matter. They are written to help motivate YOU. You can get affirmations from books, newspapers and even television shows. But the affirmation has to have a meaning for you. Affirmations help you achieve your goals, stay motivated and build success.
Here are a few of my affirmations:
- I am not a statistic. I’m a person.
- I like who I am.
- I am worth every drop of sweat.
- I have faith in me.
- I am happy with my success, I will be happier with tomorrow’s success.
- Life is a gift, make the most of it.
- When I need a hug, I give one. When I need help, I offer it. When I want to be fit, I work it out.
These are two of my favorite affirmations that are from quotes I’ve read:
- Life is not defined by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
- Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift, that’s why we call it the present.
What are your affirmations? If you’ve never made one, make one today. I’d love to see them. Make the affirmation your affirmative action for today.
