Affordable Accommodations in Europe

With the worth of the U.S. dollar continually dipping in a growing number of European destinations it is up to savvy travelers to make every cent count when touring abroad. One of the ways you can save when traveling internationally is to take advantage of deals offered by lesser-known lodgings. The following hotels are currently providing guests with outstanding savings on standard rooms.

Take a look:

ITALY

Baglio Santacroce is located on a hillside near Erice, Sicily, with sweeping views of Mount Cofano and the Gulf of Cornino. The hotel has 62 rooms that are split between a renovated 17th-century farmhouse and a newer building with similar stonework. Room rates start at just $147 per night and breakfast is included.

Rome’s Beehive hotel is less than 10 years old, but its clean and spacious rooms are already known the world over. The hotel is nonsmoking, and the restaurant is vegetarian and organic. For just $82 per room per night you can sleep in a room decorated with beaded lamps and surfing-inspired prints on the walls.

Hotel Orientale located in Palermo, Sicily was once the royal residence of Prince Alessandro Filangieri II. The 17th-century palace has original hand-painted frescoes, a courtyard, a grand marble staircase, and 24 rooms that go for $90 per night with breakfast.

FRANCE

Hôtel Chopin is located away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Paris in a historic shopping arcade. Top floors have rooftop views of the 9th arrondissement and for just $120 per room per night it’s practically a steal.

Villa Vauréal’s rooms will make you hungry the moment you step in them. Each of the two rooms and three suites at this Biarritz inn is named and decorated after a type of fruit (cherry, plum, peach, mango, raspberry) and comes with its own kitchenette. For just $116 per night you will get a room and breakfast featuring the owner’s homemade apricot and peach-apple jams.
