Ah, Rosie is at it Again

Okay, this time, Rosie was egged on a bit. Apparently, House Majority Leader Tom DeLay called for Rosie to be suspended from her duties on “The View” last Friday.

It seems that DeLay was a bit upset by the firing of Don Imus over his racist comments about the Rutger’s girl’s basketball team. Well, he was not actually upset about the firing – DeLay says his comments were deplorable, but said Imus has apologized for the comments, should be forgiven, and everyone should just move on. But, DeLay insists that the Left wants Imus to be destroyed, both publicly and professionally.

He contends that verbal offenses against anyone are treated as a crime unless it is someone from the Left making them. He points out that Reverend Jesse Jackson referred to New York City as “Hymietown.” Okay, I must be out of touch because I didn’t even understand that slur, but apparently it is anti-Semitic. He also pointed out that Reverend Al Sharpton accused a white district attorney of raping a young black girl – a crime that was proven to never have occurred. He says that neither apologized for their words.

Then he moves on to Rosie. He talks about her parody of the Chinese language, her comparing conservative Christians to Islamo-fascist terrorists (oh, I missed that too!), and her saying that President Bush was behind the 9/11 attacks. He questioned why she hasn’t been removed from “The View” for these comments. Basically, DeLay is saying that those on the Right are crucified for their words, while those on the Left get to say whatever they want without any repercussion.

Of course, you knew Rosie was not going to take this lying down. She blasted back in her blog that “she accused the president of orchestrating 9 11 wrong again sir.” She also said, in a childlike manner, “HEY TOM DELAY, U R A CRIMINAL, GO AWAY.”

Now, I just have a few thoughts on this. First, why can’t everyone just be nice to everyone else? Isn’t that the Golden Rule…”Do unto others…” Second, why does Rosie feel she has to take on the world with every issue? I don’t know about you, but I could really care less what she feels about stuff (but then I don’t watch “The View”). And third, I really dislike her childish Haiku-like blogs. It makes her seem like the school yard bully to me.
