Maybe I’m just a big softie… but I could look at pictures of dogs and cats and other small furries ALL DAY LONG. When I’m cranky at work and need a mental health break, I click over to one of my favorite sites and indulge in some cyber-fuzz therapy. (My dream job will be one where I can bring the mutts with me!)

These sites are a lot like a personal journal for your pets. You can fill out a little bio, upload a bunch of cute pictures, and even write a diary! Viewers can rate pages on a scale of five paws or leave virtual treats for dogs and cats all over the world. If you see a dog or cat that you really like, you can invite them to be pals – I recently got a note from somebody who lives in a nearby town, inviting me to a play date at the dog beach. I didn’t even know there WAS a beach where dogs were welcome! So you bet your fuzzy butt I’m gonna take Moose and Lally out there to play! Some folks make tributes to pets who are at the Rainbow Bridge, and some shelters use Catster and Dogster as another way to find forever homes for their residents.

This site makes me laugh out loud every time I visit. The concept is simple – people take pictures of their cats with stuff on them. Clothes, sure… other pets… children… random office supplies… no cats were harmed in the making of this site, only irritated.

I heard about this one on the Today Show… it’s an online dog show for purebreds and mutts. You can submit a 30 second video or 3 pictures and everybody who visits the site can rate your baby.
