Today is the last day to enter the All You magazine 2009 Grocery Challenge. If you haven’t heard of All You, then you haven’t been clipping coupons for very long. All You is a magazine that is published by Walmart, and distributed in Walmart Stores and through subscriptions. Rather than confining the focus to Walmart, All You features articles of general interest about food, clothing, shopping, and lifestyle. It is a premier source of high value coupons, and pays for itself with these savings.
The prize for the Grocery Challenge is a $1000 grocery card and a year’s supply of Knorr side dishes. The winner will be featured in All You magazine, and revealed on The Early Show (CBS). Interested? OK, here’s the challenge.
Starting July 13, spend no more than $25 a week on groceries per family
member over a four week period. Yes, you can use your stockpile! If you eat in restaurants, what you spend counts. Save receipts, and post your progress on the All You blog

You can use coupons of course. You can also grow food in your garden, or barter or trade. Be inventive. Household supplies and toiletries do not count toward the total. This is just about groceries.
This is a great promotion to encourage us all to really keep track of what we spend on food – not just groceries, but take out, restaurants,
coffee at Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts in the morning, lunch in the office, etc. It really makes us look not only at money management, but at time management as well.
I am really looking forward to this challenge, and to reading all the
money-saving tips that all the entrants post. This is an opportunity for all of us to learn about ourselves, and to learn from others. Everyone’s a winner with new ideas!
This month there are over $70 in coupons featured in All You. Most coupons are over $1.00. They are on things you use everyday – paper towels, snacks, frozen foods, pain relievers, drinks, hair products and pet products. Enjoy the savings!
