One of my routines in the morning is to straighten up around the house. I’m a morning person, so I don’t mind. But if you aren’t a morning person, then you might want to wait until the end of the day. In fact, I’m actually starting to think that might be the better way to do it.
It would be nice to wake up one morning and not have anything to straighten. But then again, by the time my three children are done getting ready for school, there are bound to be lights on, a mess somewhere, toothpaste left in the sink…you get the picture. So perhaps for now I will have to stick to my morning routine.
The real point is that all you need is 15 minutes a day to do a quick straightening up around your home—IF you have been keeping things up. So this is yet another reason for clutter and messes to be dealt with once-and-for-all. Wouldn’t it be nice to know that most days all the time that has to be spent on your house is just 15 minutes?
Here is what I accomplish in 15 minutes a day…I sweep the bathroom, living and dining rooms, and kitchen floors. I use Lysol wipes to quickly wipe down the bathroom sink, toilet and area surrounding the toilet. I also use Lysol wipes to wipe down my dishwasher, Keurig coffee maker, toaster, regular coffee maker, stove and microwave. Then I wipe off the counters.
Next I go through each room and pick up anything that has been left on the floor or is out of place. Granted, there are some days where it might take a little longer than 15 minutes but for the most part, that’s all I need.
All you need is 15 minutes a day. However that is only if your home is in a state where maintenance cleaning is the most you have to do.
