A dream with any hot beverage.
INGREDIENTS:
2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup ground almonds
1 pinch salt
1 cup shortening
1 cup white sugar
2 tbs fresh lemon juice
1 tbs brandy
1 tsp lemon zest
1/4 cup powdered sugar
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, almonds, and salt. Set aside.
2. In a large bowl, cream vegetable shortening and sugar. Beat in lemon juice and brandy. Beat in lemon zest.
3. Gradually blend in dry ingredients.
4. Roll spoonfuls of batter into small balls and then press flat. Place on cookie sheet.
5. Press a form into the top of each cookie.
6. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar.
