Amazing Baby Tale

He may not have won the $232 million Powerball drawing last night (neither did I… sniff… sniff), but Kent Adams still beat the odds in the most unbelievable way.

The 48-year-old grandfather has two lucky numbers: 24 and 11, both of which have proven to be winners on more than one occasion.

Two weeks ago Adams’ hit the jackpot again when his grandson was born. The newest addition to the family is healthy, happy and has a full head of hair, but that’s not the reason the Adams’ family is making headlines around the world.

The reason the Georgia clan is attracting worldwide attention is because every 24 years for three generations, a baby boy has been born into the family on May 11th.

“I was born on my dad’s 24th birthday, and my son was born on my 24th birthday,” Jonathan Adams told reporters.

Jonathan’s infant son, Brody, was born on May 11, 2009. Meanwhile, Kent Adams was born on May 11, 1961, and Jonathan Adams was born on May 11, 1985.

According to experts, the statistical probability of having a child born on the same day every 24 years is one in 133,225.

What’s more, the family has no clue how it happened. Jonathan says his wife conceived Brody by chance and gave birth naturally. Ditto for Kent’s wife, who reveals that she was picking up a birthday cake for her husband when her water broke on May 11, 1985.

And if you think that May 11th is a hectic day for the Adams’ family now that Brody has entered the picture, imagine what the party will be like when Mother’s Day falls on the same day in 2014.

As for Kent and Jonathan, the proud pops say the strange phenomenon is a conversation starter, but they don’t consider themselves special.

“I guess we are all just weird,” Jonathan told reporters. “I was my dad’s birthday present, and Brody was my birthday present.”

Do you and your child share the same birthday?
