Everyone has a favorite dessert. For some people, only chocolate will do. For others, candy is the sweet-tooth fix of choice. For me, it has be banana cream pie. I love it. When I can’t make the whole pie, banana pudding is a delicious alternative. Easy to make and luscious to eat, banana pudding is a dessert you can make alone or with your kids.
This is by far the best banana pudding I’ve ever eaten. It’s creamier and more decadent than other recipes, using whipped cream and cream cheese to richen it even more. If you love bananas, banana pudding, and banana cream pie, you’ll love this recipe.
For this recipe you’ll need:
2 bags Pepperidge Farm Chessmen cookies
6 to 8 bananas, sliced
2 cups milk
1 (5-ounce) box instant French vanilla pudding
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (12-ounce) container frozen whipped topping thawed, or equal amount sweetened whipped cream
To make this recipe:
Line the bottom of a 13 by 9 by 2-inch dish with 1 bag of cookies.
Next, layer the bananas on top of the cookies.
In a large bowl, combine the milk and pudding mix. Using a handheld mixer, blend well.
In a separate large bowl, combine the cream cheese and condensed milk together and mix until smooth. Fold the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture. Add the cream cheese mixture to the pudding mixture and stir until well combined. Pour the mixture evenly over the cookies and bananas and cover with the remaining cookies. Refrigerate for two hours or until ready to serve.
Tip: If you’re craving banana pudding but don’t have all the ingredients, try making vanilla pudding and layering it with sliced bananas and Cool Whip or freshly whipped cream. If you have some almonds on hand, add a few on the top of each dish.
