An Amazing Remedy for Diaper Rash

A month ago my good friend told me about her new favorite product when it comes to diapering: California Baby Non-Burning and Calming Diaper Area Wash. I put off buying it because Target was a little out of my way, but this past week my son developed a terrible rash, and so I made a point to swing by Target and pick it up.

Before I tell you how well this stuff works, let me preface that by saying that this rash was the worst my son ever had. He developed two open sores that would bleed if wiped during a change. It was horrible! It all started when he had a bowel movement during the night and his poor bottom was soiled until he woke up the next morning. I tried all sorts of creams and ointments, and sometimes it would seem like he was healing, but as soon as he had another #2, it was back to square one. Immediately following one of these diaper changes where it had started to bleed again, we went to Target and bought the Diaper Area Wash. It comes in a spray bottle, so you can either spray it directly onto your baby’s bottom, or you can use a cotton pad to apply it. When we got home, we changed him again and sprayed the product directly onto his bottom. He did startle a little bit, but he immediately calmed down once it took effect. The next morning we were shocked when we changed his diaper. There were two pink splotches on the skin where the bleeding sores had been. I have never seen diaper rash heal so quickly! We have continued to use this product since and the rash has gotten progressively better.

According to the label, you can mix this product with one part solution and ten parts water to create a preventative wipe solution. I love the convenience of a spray bottle, so I think I will make the wipe solution and keep it in a spray bottle to use with my flannel wipes.

The retail price is $9.99 at my Target, but in my opinion, it is worth every penny!
