An Important Family Outing Part I

We did something very special this weekend, something that I did not think we would do this early. After receiving a flyer in the mail to remind us of the important outing that needed to take place, I knew that we needed to go as soon as possible. Without hesitation we made plans to find and tag our Christmas tree at a local Christmas Tree Farm! We went to this same tree farm last year but we went a few weeks before Thanksgiving. Most of the tree were already tagged by the time we went. While we found a decent tree, I wanted to make sure that we would have more trees to choose from this year so we went as early as possible!

We went on a cold but sunny Saturday afternoon to a Christmas Tree Farm just outside the city limit. I made sure that our son and daughter were warmly dressed, but I had to force my husband to wear a hat and gloves (thirty five degrees fahrenheit is cold)! Once we all had coats, gloves, and hats, we began our thirty minute trip to the tree farm. Having made the trip twice before last year (one to tag our tree and the second to cut it down and bring it home), the drive was familiar and pleasant with lots of delightful fall colors.

Upon our arrival we were greeted by one of the owners of the tree farm (a husband and wife in their late sixties), she gave us the tag to fill out and tie to the tree of our choice. With our three year old running excitedly between the rows of Christmas Trees and our daughter sleeping soundly in the stroller covered by a warm fluffy blanket, we began our search for the perfect Christmas Tree.
