Planning a wedding, can be a joy, or a nightmare. This depends largely on the people involved and their attitude towards the eventand to the marriage. What it should do is reflect the taste and personalities of the couple whose wedding it is. That was certainly true for Kevin Heinz and Jill Petersen who not only boogied up the aisle on their wedding day but then put the video of it up on You Tube. Since then it has been viewed by millions of people.
In the video the entire bridal party, including with bride and groom boogey their way.The groom even managed a somersault on the way to the altar.
The bride claimed it was her idea initially as she has always loved dance and feels it is an ideal way to express her feelings. Certainly it will go down as a wedding that guests won’t forget in a hurry.
While you may not want to be this extreme in making your wedding unforgettable, it is common these days for couples to go away from the traditional wedding march and choose music that reflects more of the taste and personality, or songs that are meaningful to the couple.
So if you’re planning your wedding, think about and discuss with your intended the choices of songs that are meaningful to you. For example if you are a believer you may want to choose songs that reflect your faith. If you are not, then you will choose other songs that reflect where you and your intended are at.
Sometimes it might simply because you both like a certain piece of music or it brings back memories of a first date or the night he asked you to marry him. At one wedding I know the music was the theme song from ‘The Mission’ purely because the couple liked that piece of music.
So when planning a wedding, think about what music you will choose that will express the taste of you and your intended. But don’t let the details become so important and take over to such an extent that it overshadows the real purpose. When it’s all said and done, it’s should not be about the wedding day as much as it is the marriage.
