Word has it Angelina Jolie is still pregnant, but the soon to be mother of twins is minus a job today. According to reports, the female half of Brangelina will no longer be the face of St. John knitwear.
The actress’ three-year deal with the company has expired and execs with the fashion house say they are moving on without her.
“Three years is a long time to maintain any campaign, and we felt it was time to do something new and different,” St. John’s chief executive officer recently told reporters.
Four different up-and-coming fashion models will reportedly replace the pregnant super star. The new ads, which will be shot around New York, will debut this fall. As for the iconic black and white photographs taken of Jolie by famed fashion photographer Mario Testino, according to St. John reps, those will be pulled once the new ad campaign is launched.
Execs at St. John were quick to point out that the decision to cut ties with Jolie had nothing to do with the her growing belly, rather they say they “enjoyed a great run together” and it was simply time for the company to move in a new direction with new faces.
That’s show biz.
Somehow I doubt Jolie is too broken up about it, after all, by the time the new ads go public she will be the mother of six children under the age of seven.
In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly Jolie says even she was caught off guard by the news that she was carrying twins. The “Girl, Interrupted” star says she and her partner Brad Pitt always wanted a large family, but when they decided to expand their family they didn’t think they would be doing so by two… at once.
“We weren’t expecting twins,” the 33-year-old “Beowulf” star tells Entertainment Weekly. “So it did shock us, and we jumped to six [children] quickly. But we like a challenge.”
Jolie does admit to having nannies and adds that Pitt’s parents are always willing to pitch in with diaper duty.
Hmmm… I wonder if Pitt worked out his issues with diaper rash?
