Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston divorced nearly seven years ago and yet their names are still often tied together in the tabloids. This seems especially true lately. If you believe what you read, Brad and fiancée Angelina Jolie are always trying to rain on Aniston’s parade as far as the headlines go.
Pitt and Jolie announced their engagement in April after seven years and six children together. At the time, I think the tabloids were accusing Pitt and Jolie of ruining Aniston’s possible wedding plans by upstaging her. Now, it may be Aniston that upstaging Pitt and Jolie.
Rumors were swirling that Pitt and Jolie were getting married soon. Some sources are saying that the mayor of a nearby French village near the couple’s home said they are planning to get married this month. Still other reports say Pitt ordered two wedding ring sets. Others say that construction at their home shows they are getting ready for a wedding.
In the meantime, while all that gossip was going on, Aniston got married to current beau, Justin Theroux. Oddly enough, Aniston met Theroux, who was in a 14 year relationship with Heidi Bivens at the time, on the set of Wanderlust. If you remember, Pitt and Jolie met on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith while Pitt was still married to Aniston.
The two have been dating for a little over a year. A statement released by his representative read, “Justin Theroux had an amazing birthday on Friday, receiving an extraordinary gift when his girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston, accepted his proposal of marriage.” Aniston’s representative confirmed the news.
While Aniston may have told her closest friends, she apparently didn’t tell her father. When asked about the engagement, actor John Aniston told reporters, “It’s the first I’ve heard about it.” He did say it was a “surprise” and he would have to “look online.”
So, which couple will be first to the alter?
