It has been three weeks since her death, but it looks like Anna Nicole Smith will finally be buried today in the Bahamas. The funeral will be held at the Mount Horeb Baptist Church in Nassau. Anna Nicole will be buried next to her son Daniel at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. This decision was finally made when Richard Milestein, appointed by the court as the advocate for Dannielynn, Anna’s five-month-old daughter, was given control of Anna Nicole’s remains.
The funeral service at the church is expected to be attended by 300 guests and pink flowers will be abundant. I heard on the news it was expected to be “over the top.” Anna Nicole’s life certainly was, so why shouldn’t her funeral be so as well? The graveside service will only be for about 30 people including Anna Nicole’s mother, Virgie Arthur, her boyfriend/lawyer Howard K. Stern, and her ex-boyfriend Larry Birkhead, who is still contesting the paternity of Dannielynn.
The medical examiner in the case, Dr. Joshua Perper, said he expects to release the cause of death sometime next week. The only hint he gave was to say it was “an unusual case from a medical point of view.” Could this mean it wasn’t an overdose? Surely, that would be pretty common for a medical examiner.
So with the burial, does that mean the whole Anna Nicole saga is over? Not by a long shot! Her mother is still expected to try to get her body removed from the Bahamas to Texas, says her lawyer Tom Pirtle. Howard K. Stern insisted Anna Nicole wanted to be buried next to Daniel. I heard on the news today that Anna Nicole’s first husband, Billy Wayne Smith (Daniel’s father), will petition to have Daniel’s body exhumed and reburied in Texas. I haven’t read that anywhere online, but I feel that once you have been buried, you should remain buried. When will all this end?
