Anna Nicole Smith—The Latest

The Anna Nicole Smith saga continued today. If you are just getting up to speed on the latest developments in the twisted situation that has transpired since Smith’s death last week click here.

It’s been four days since Smith’s unresponsive body was found in a Florida hotel room. Since then the case has taken more twists and turns than an amusement park ride. Friday, I wrote about Zsa Zsa Gabor’s husband throwing his hat into the paternity ring in an effort to gain custody of Smith’s 5-month-old daughter, Dannielynn. Today, Prince Frederic von Anhalt told news reporters he plans to file a paternity challenge to see if he is indeed the child’s father, and is willing to submit to a DNA test.

“If the court rules in my favor, I will go to the Bahamas and pick up the child,” he said.

The only problem (well, one of them at least), according to von Anhalt, Gabor told him if he brings the baby into their home she would seek a divorce.

Von Anhalt added: “If my wife wants to divorce me then it’s up to her.”

The 59-year-old Von Anhalt and 90-year-old ailing Gabor have been married for more than 20 years.

The couple’s marriage may still have a chance if Alexander Denk turns out to be Dannielynn’s father. That’s right, yet another man is claiming that Smith’s baby could be his. Denk, who had worked as a bodyguard for Smith, told TV’s “Extra” that he had an affair with Smith, and that it’s possible he is the father.

So, let’s review. Currently, Smith’s companion, Howard K. Stern, L.A. photographer, Larry Birkhead, von Anhalt, and now Denk are all claiming they could be Dannielynn’s daddy. Poor kid.

Also, on Monday, compromising photos of Smith and a Bahamian official were published in a local newspaper. The paper featured two pictures of Smith in bed with immigration minister, Shane Gibson (they were embracing, but fully clothed). According to news reports, Gibson was the one who approved Smith’s application for permanent residency in the island nation—a move he was later criticized for by the political opposition.

And the plot thickens…
