“Annabelle’s Wish” is a wonderful movie to embrace during the Christmas season. While my children and I love the movie anytime of the year, it is a heartwarming tale that takes place during the holidays and features no other than Santa Claus.
Annabelle’s Wish is an animated movie that revolves around the story of Billy, a young boy living with his grandfather. His aunt wishes to take him away but Billy wants to stay.
Billy, who suffered from a fire accident, cannot speak and Annabelle helps his dreams come true.
Annabelle is a young calf who also has a dream. She wants to be a reindeer and a helper for Santa Claus. Annabelle meets Santa Claus on Christmas day when he visits the farm and gives the animals the gift to speak for the day.
Throughout the movie, Billy and Annabelle become close friends and Annabelle helps Billy through tough times and teasing from friends.
Annabelle’s love for Billy motivates her to unselfishly make her wish for him. Annabelle gives Billy her ability to talk.
However in the end, Annabelle’s dreams come true too. She meets with Santa and flies as one of his reindeer.
The story is carried through the lives of Billy and Annabelle and they can be seen as a man and a cow later in the story.
While the animals and people have voices of their own, the story’s is narrated throughout by country music singer Randy Travis.
The drawings of the calf, Annabelle, in the movie are precious and the value and morals from the tale are wonderful. I would suggest this movie to anyone who wants to sit down with their children and gain a warm cozy feeling about what they are watching together.
