Another Injury

I want to thank my wonderful readers for sticking with me through a knee injury and an ankle injury. Now, I ask you to stick it out with me as I recover from a strain in my chest muscle. I injured my knee in a car accident and I was out of commission for about a year. Moving a bookcase, I injured my ankle when it fell on me. I was out of commission for a few months but not back to normal for about six months. This time, I have no idea what I did.

If I had to come up with something it would be carrying my heavy purse while talking on my cell and walking into the YMCA. I pulled open the door managing a phone, purse, and excited four year old ready for her gymnastics class. I managed all of that without incident but it is the only movement I made until the pain came. I took my daughter to her class and sat down to watch. Out of the blue, I felt a stabbing pain in my chest. It was a bit scary to be honest. If I had any other symptom such as nausea, sweating, radiating pain, or shortness of breath, I would have gone directly to the emergency room. For me the only thing wrong was a terrible localized pain that occurred when I was in certain positions. All of that are signs of a strain. However, I highly suggest you seek medical attention for chest pain. It was very frustrating since I had no idea what I did to cause a strain and it is the last thing someone needs who is starting a workout routine. Chest strains demand rest as you need to be careful. I spent all day hardly moving and I have felt quite a bit of improvement so far. Hopefully, I will be back on track soon.
