Brace yourselves people – we are in a bumpy ride as the story of the Octuplet mom Nadya Suleman continues to unfold. In the story that just won’t seem to go away, the latest news is that Suleman has fired her free nursing service.
The not-for-profit organization Angels in Waiting (AIW) had offered their nursing services free of charge to Suleman. The suggestion of AIW was made by none other than Dr. Phil. Since the first four babies started coming home recently, this seemed like it might be a welcomed relief to what many believe to be an already overloaded household.
However, Suleman announced today that she has fired the free AIW staff. She told Us Weekly that she fired the AIW staff, reportedly because they were spying on her. She told Us, “Yes, it’s true. I released AIW. It was really bad. That’s all I can say. I can’t confirm, why, in particular. I will be releasing the details soon.” However, her spokeman reportedly accused the organization of spying and turning Suleman into child welfare officials.
Suleman’s attorney, Jeff Czech, did said that several confrontations took place between Suleman and the nurses. It is believed that the founder of AIW, Linda West-Conforti, filed a report with child welfare to ask for an investigation into whether Suleman could care for all the children. Czech went on to further say that Suleman “felt that she was being judged wrongfully, and she didn’t need it.” He also said that all AIW did was “make a difficult situation worse.”
If you think this is the last of this particular part of this story, it isn’t. According to Radar Online, AIW is scheduled to appear on Dr. Phil’s Tuesday show while Suleman too hopes to tell her end of the story on the show. For now, Gloria Allred, attorney for AIW, said “We have no comment at this time. We will respond tomorrow afternoon with the true facts.”
So, how is Suleman going to handle half the new babies without the help of AIW? She has hired her own nannies, which she said she planned to have with or without the help of AIW anyhow.
