April Fool’s Day is tomorrow, do you have your pranks ready? Do you do anything special on April Fool’s Day or just treat it like a normal day? To be honest, I rarely observe the day. It may be a fun day for kids but an entire day of my son playing pranks on his little sisters does not give me the warm fuzzies or the giggles. It is more likely my little ones will cry so a fun day will be ruined as all will have to find a comfy corner to rethink their actions. My oldest finds no humor in pranks unless she is the mastermind. I have the same tendency as my son and go a bit too far with pranks. As you can see this is not a day that brings out the best in our family. Yet, I am determined to change that and allow pranks and humor for at least part of the day.

Just remember this is a day for laughter and good fun not scaring anyone or causing little ones to cry. Try to teach your children the difference between fun humor and humor that hurts. Just because something elicits a laugh it does not mean it was proper. I will have to remember that and repeat as I plan my pranks this year. I suppose hiding in the shower and jumping out while my kid brushes his teeth would be in poor form, huh?
