They claim to have something for everyone. If you are looking for it, they’ve got it. At least that is what we have come to believe about the website eBay. And, I must admit, when it comes to finding some really off beat items the site seldom disappoints. After all, where else can you buy the rights to name someone else’s child? Or, find an authentic replica of the first moon rock?
But, today I found an item that far-and-away gives new meaning to the phrase: “What will they think of next?” Or, better yet: “What was he thinking?” You decide which is the better fit.
A man in Naperville, Illinois is selling something on eBay that could some are calling “the first of its kind:” a piece of hair from the head of “the world’s perfect man.” The listing reads: “You are bidding on one hair strand of Marc Kancler. This is your chance to recreate the world’s most perfect man! This piece of hair strand will be presented framed. You can hang it on a wall or use it for science. This is for novelty use but again, do as you wish.”
The description does not make clear if Kancler is the alleged “perfect man” or not. (You can see “the perfect man’s picture along with a description of the piece of hair by clicking here.) When I last checked there was a current bid of $455. Is that insane?
I don’t know if I am more sickened by the fact that someone out there is willing to shell out more than $450 for a single strand of hair (and frankly, who’s to say that it’s even a strand of human hair) or if my stomach is aching because Kancler came up with the idea before I did. (Do you know how long it takes me to make $455? I think my head is beginning to ache as well.)
Oh, by the way, there’s no word on how much the frame is worth.
