Are You Setting Business Goals That Are Too Easy?

Setting attainable goals for your home business can be a good strategy—it can help you boost your confidence and build a track record of achievement that could create momentum for your business. BUT, you can lose momentum and motivation if you set goals that are too easy.

Goals should, by nature, be a bit of a stretch—some would even say that it should take a bit of a “leap” to reach one’s goals. If you have put some time and energy into some short and long-term plans for your business, and they include goals for revenue and growth—you might want to look things over to make sure that they are not so cinchy as to keep you from feeling motivated and inspired to work to achieve them.

If you are clicking things off of your to-do list and achieving the goals that you have set for your home business with relative ease—either you are an amazing whiz (and you might just be ANYWAY!) or you’ve set the bar too low. Maybe you should consider having a nice mix of goals—some a little on the easy side, some really tough that will take a great deal of effort and focus, and some more moderate. This way, you can target and go after your business goals depending on your mood, energy-level and resources.

Take a look at the goals you have established for your home-based business—what might have seemed hard for you in the beginning, may have become simple and it could very well be time to set some more challenging ones. Goals that are too easy can be as demoralizing as ones that are completely unattainable. Stretch, branch out and take a leap—challenge yourself to set and reach goals that will grow your business and take a concerted effort on your part!
