Are You Thinking Pink Yet?

Have you been reading my “Think Pink” blogs? Have you filled your closet and your kitchen with a slew of new pink items yet? If not–—what are you waiting for. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month (and we are almost halfway through it), a time for us to celebrate our friends and family who are breast cancer survivors and to remember those who are no longer with us. It’s also a time to renew our energy to fight this insidious disease and support researchers who are working for a cure.

In previous blogs I have featured a number of items that are designed to promote Breast Cancer Awareness. It’s a great way you can give to a wonderful cause and walk away with something to show for it. However, looking back it seems that many of the items I have spotlighted are a bit pricey. Hence, this blog. The following pink products are incredibly affordable (not to mention practical) and profits from their sales still go to help promote Breast Cancer Awareness programs.

Energizer Batteries. During the month of October, Energizer will donate 50 cents to Susan G. Komen for the Cure for each set of batteries sold–with a minimum guaranteed donation of $100,000.

Tomboy Tools Pink Hammer. What a great way to knock out this deadly disease. The company promises to donate $3 of each PINK hammer sold to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Caribou Coffee. Caribou Coffee features Amy’s Blend, which is a special coffee that pays tribute to Amy Erickson, one of the company’s early Roastmasters. The company will donate a guaranteed minimum donation of $100,000 to Komen for the Cure in 2007.

Atlas Nitrile Touch Gardening Gloves. The gloves are available at lawn and garden stores across the nation. A portion of the sales of the $7 gloves will go to support breast cancer research.

Scotch Lint Roller. 3M will donate $1 for each package of lint rollers sold and 28 cents for every single lint roller sold from now until March 2008. The company says it plans to make a minimum guaranteed donation of $100,000 to Breast Cancer Awareness programs.

All-Sport Brush Smiles of Hope Toothbrush. The company will donate 40 cents to Komen for the Cure for every Smiles of Hope Toothbrush sold.
