Art Class Adventures Part IV

Within a few minutes the teachers called time and asked the children to get in line to wash their hands. As all the children left all the stations and got in line, my son took the opportunity to use the scissors at the collage station. I quickly re routed him in line so that he could wash his hands too. The last fifteen minutes of class were spent going through the art museum. There lots of small pieces that were interesting to me but my son could have cared less. The last gallery on the tour housed something rather impressive: a larger than life Jackson Pollock (my favorite abstract artist!). My son liked looking at the “big painting,” but he was ready to move on before I was. Once all the parents and children were together, we all went back into the classroom to collect our child’s portfolios. My son did not want to leave and when I asked him if he wanted to take another art class his response was an immediate YES! When daddy got home from work that night, our son excitedly told daddy all about the art class while showing him all his art pieces.

With such a successful experience, I signed him up for another art class and put it in my calendar with the necessary reminders. The time was different which I thought was kind of strange but after double checking it, I figured that the summer class times differed from the fall class times.

The weeks flew by and before I knew it, I was getting reminders for the art class. On the morning of the art class I checked the class time again. This time daddy was going to come too! We had a leisurely morning and left thirty minutes before the class was to start.
