Ashlee Welcomes a Man Cub and Madonna Embraces Freedom

Pop stars Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz will have one more thing to be grateful for this Thanksgiving—-their new son.

According to reports, the 24-year-old singer gave birth to the couple’s first child last night.

Bronx Mowgli Wentz weighed 7 lbs., 11 oz., and was 20 1/2 inches long, according to PEOPLE magazine.

Jessica Simpson’s baby sis and her Fall Out Boy bassist hubby got hitched in May in an elaborate Alice in Wonderland-themed wedding. The celebration was followed by an equally opulent Winnie-the-Pooh-themed baby shower, which was held just a few weeks ago.

I wonder if we can expect a Jungle Book-themed first birthday bash for the Wentz’s little man cub?

Bronx Mowgli? Where do people come up with this stuff?

MADONNA EMBRACES FREEDOM

With a swipe of a judge’s pen this morning, the union between Madonna and Guy Ritchie is now one step closer to being erased forever.

The Material Girl and her movie director ex were granted a preliminary decree of divorce by a judge in London just a few hours ago.

Basically, the famous couple was granted a quickie divorce that will be made final in about six weeks.

According to court documents Madonna was the one who petitioned for divorce on the basis of Ritchie’s “unreasonable behavior.” Court records also reveal that the couple had come to an agreement on how to divide their assets and children.

British newspapers are reporting that the pair reached a settlement that would allow the pop super-duper star to keep the majority of her estimated $445 million fortune in exchange for joint custody of the couple’s two children: Rocco, 8, and David Banda, 3, who was adopted from Malawi in 2006.

So much for til death do us part, though did anyone think those two would last forever?
