I have always dreamed of sending my parents on a cruise of Japan and China, but Asian sailings are among the priciest on the market. And with the price of airfare skyrocketing these days I can barely afford tickets to see them in Hawaii so I don’t know how I would be able to round up the money it would take to cover a dream cruise. Still, I’m constantly on the look out for great deals on high sea adventures, with the hope that one day I can gift my mom and dad with the trip they have longed to take.
This week my search yielded a few notable results. They are all early-bird deals that save 25 to 39 percent off rack rates. Take a look:
Crystal Cruises
Five-star Crystal Cruises is offering a fantastic voyage to China and Japan. The 12-night Far East voyage aboard Crystal Symphony is selling for just $6,295 (oceanview cabin) and departs next spring from Beijing. The price reflects a 39% savings off rack rates. The odyssey will take you to ports including Shanghai, Beijing, and Dalian in China, and Osaka/Kyoto in Japan. The trip also features 4 full days at sea. The ship disembarks in Hong Kong.
Seabourn Spirit
Orbitz is offering an amazing deal on a February 2009 departure aboard the exclusive Seabourn Spirit. For just $4,639 you’ll get a luxurious suite on this five-star yacht (a savings of 25% off rack rates). The eight-night voyage around China, takes you from Hong Kong toward Shanghai. The itinerary takes in five Chinese destinations in total — Xiamen, Zhangjiagang, and Nanjing, with cruising time on the scenic Yangtze River and two entire days at sea.
Silver Whisper
This trip departs in November and is offered by Vacation Outlet. The 9-night journey takes you roundtrip from Singapore aboard the five-star Silver Whisper. The voyage, which is normally priced at $8,970, has dropped to $6,361, saving you 29%. The ship stops in three Southeast Asian countries: Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. While there you will tour the beautiful Langkawi archipelago in Malaysia and Thailand’s resort island of Phuket. A full day at sea is also part of the itinerary.
