About Angel Lynn Diamond

I am a mom to my precious one and only, a nurse in a heartwarming adult living facility, and a freelance writer. I am "Angel" to the one who has helped me through life for the past 2-1/2 years and has made a joyful difference. I am a featured contributing writer for Rich Women Sisterhood, A Distinctive Style magazine and a writing and health advisor on Just Answer. As well, I write greeting cards, articles in health, relationships, diet, fitness, parenting, and travel. I reside in Upstate, NY and enjoy spending time with my loved ones, writing, the outdoors, and fitness. What I would like to say to others is.......Slow down and enjoy the moment, as you cannot get it back. Dream, believe, hope, but most of all have faith. Be careful with your words...they have the potential to hurt or bring forth joy. Remember, gentleness is a comfort to a wounded heart. Wishing you all many blessings. ~Angel Lynn~

End of Summer Collage

For some kids summer meant taking a vacation somewhere, camping or being involved in summer camp. For some kids they mostly stayed home and hung out doing things kids like to do, such as neighborhood games with the other kids, playing on the playground, going swimming and going on picnics. Whatever summer the kids have they are likely filled with good memories that they will treasure. A great way to keep them busy over the end of their summer vacation is by making a “My Summer Vacation” collage. They will have it forever to remember their summer vacation and it … Continue reading

Keeping Cool in the Heat

Today is another blistering hot day. I guess that it could be worse. I was just talking to someone who says it is 106 degrees where he lives. This is not down south either. So how do you keep cool admist this hot weather? Here are some great ways to keep cool when the thermometer is on the rise: Dress lightly. No, you cannot go naked, but you can wear minimal clothing and still be covered. Shorts, tee shirts and tank tops are all perfect. Dresses though seem to be the best thing to wear when the weather is hot. … Continue reading

Toys from Our Past: Clackers

I know that I am giving my age away, but I wanted to mention some very interesting things that I found out about Clackers the other day. Does anyone remember this extremely dangerous toy that was sold from the late 60s and the early 70s? Clackers consisted of two long strings, approximately 12 inches in length tied to a single ring that was about two inches in diameter. Now that is really not the dangerous aspect of this toy that I am referring to even though we all now that those strings may be dangerous when placed in the hands … Continue reading

Poison Ivy Precautions

Most of us have had at least one bout with the dreaded poison ivy plant. Since it is summer there is an increased risk of someone in your family coming into contact with it. Summertime fun means playing outside, playing in the park and camping with your family. You may get away with keeping your kids away from wooded areas when they are playing in their background, but when you go to a park and definitely when you go camping there is always a wooded area that needs to be inspected before your kids are let loose to play. The … Continue reading

Sharing Feelings with Puppets

Do you have a child who is a reluctant talker? Do you just know that something is bothering him, but you cannot get him to open up to you? Some children are cautious about sharing their feelings. Depending on the personality of the child he or she just may be quiet when they are bothered by something. On the other hand, some children may act out when they feel troubled about something. If you can get them to talk to you about it you can then begin to solve the problem. If they hold it inside then it is likely … Continue reading

Ice Cream Soda Day!

I’ll bet you didn’t know it, but June 20th is Ice Cream Soda Day. I didn’t know it until just a little while ago. It seems as though more and more special days are coming up that I have never heard of before. Ice Cream Soda Day though is a good one. It brought back some special memories for me anyway. When I was about 5 or 6 we lived in the city where everything was within walking distance. All the important things to a kid anyway. There was the penny candy store, the ice cream fountain, the movie theater … Continue reading

Sneaky Fitness: Fun, Foolproof Ways to Slip Fitness into Your Child’s Everyday Life

Sneaky Fitness: Fun, Foolproof Ways to Slip Fitness into Your Child’s Everyday Life by Missy Chase Lapine and Larysa Didio is a hit with moms! This amazing book has shown parents how to help reluctant kids get more physically fit without them even being aware of it. Not so long ago (or so it seems) kids were out from morning until night during summer vacation playing. Kids played hide and seek, baseball, dodge ball, freeze tag, kick the can and other great childhood games. Kids swam, they rode bikes, and they read their favorite books under the backyard tree. During … Continue reading
