About Angel Lynn Diamond

I am a mom to my precious one and only, a nurse in a heartwarming adult living facility, and a freelance writer. I am "Angel" to the one who has helped me through life for the past 2-1/2 years and has made a joyful difference. I am a featured contributing writer for Rich Women Sisterhood, A Distinctive Style magazine and a writing and health advisor on Just Answer. As well, I write greeting cards, articles in health, relationships, diet, fitness, parenting, and travel. I reside in Upstate, NY and enjoy spending time with my loved ones, writing, the outdoors, and fitness. What I would like to say to others is.......Slow down and enjoy the moment, as you cannot get it back. Dream, believe, hope, but most of all have faith. Be careful with your words...they have the potential to hurt or bring forth joy. Remember, gentleness is a comfort to a wounded heart. Wishing you all many blessings. ~Angel Lynn~

Giving Time

One of the most virtuous things that you can teach your children is how to give of themselves to those that are less fortunate. Teaching them how to do this will help them not to focus on themselves only. Volunteering and other acts of kindness will help them to learn many other wonderful and humble traits, such as being patient. Volunteering our time was commonplace in our house. With deliberation I made sure that we had a new project each year to do something nice for someone less fortunate. Some of our projects included raising money for the local animal … Continue reading

These children are suffering from the sugar high blues. Easter was wonderful. The children awoke to find beautifully decorated Easter baskets all decked out in colorful cellophane wrap put together by yours truly. Yes, they had far … Continue reading

Easter Memories

It is that time of the year again when we start putting together Easter baskets for our children. Everyone does things a little bit differently for their kids at this time of the year. Our knowledge of many things that we do for our children comes from our own childhood memories of what our parents did for us. I always put my children’s Easter baskets together the same way that my parents did for me. However, there were some Easters that I went a bit overboard and should not have. Still, we want everything for our kids so I was … Continue reading

Little Critter Books

I have always stressed the importance of reading in my house. I would encourage it at every opportunity. Story time was a big deal. Every day we would take time out to do this. It was loved by all in my house. In the evening there was also story time. It was a daily ritual and because of that, I believe, I had good readers around me. Not only did my house have good readers, but imaginations ran wild here. It was a good thing. There were stories created by the people among me that I have saved and treasured … Continue reading

Those Great Consignment Shops

Consignment shops are great to shop at for people who do not have a lot of money to spend on clothes and various other items. They are also wonderful for people who tire easily of the “same old thing” or need clothing just for a short period of time, such as during pregnancy or the in between periods of weight loss. Women who are pregnant generally only need their maternity clothing for about 7 months or so. In the early months of pregnancy their regular wardrobe should be fine. After the baby is born they can usually get back in … Continue reading

Cleaning Out Your Closets

Changing of the seasons means more than just warm, sunny weather ahead. It means spring cleaning, including cleaning out the closets. Ugh. Depending on how big your family is this could take a great amount of time, so get moving. When sifting through the closets have your child nearby. You may need him or her to try things on. As you weed through each pair of pants, each shirt, each coat, the shoes and nighttime clothing decide which things may fit next year. Have a large storage container and box or garbage bag close at hand. If the clothing or … Continue reading

Waffle Blocks Are Back!

Finally, finally, finally! The kids in our family had these wonderful blocks back about 18 years ago. They disappeared about five or so years later and the only way to get them were on the online auctions. As one niece and nephew after another entered our family, I searched for those blocks to buy them for their birthdays and other holidays. They were not in any store. Little Tikes had apparently dropped them. Why? I have no idea, as they were very popular. As I was surfing the internet a couple of weeks back, I saw them. I was very … Continue reading
