About Tammy Woolard

My name is Tammy and I am 40 year old mother of 3 wonderful children who came to us through domestic adoption. Although we did not have any fertility issues we chose adoption because there are so many kids that did not ask to be born but truly want a family to love. We did research on adoption choices and decided on domestic adoption through CPS. You would be surprised the differences between each agency. The adoption process is nothing like you see in the movies. I am also a 5 year breast cancer survivor. When I was diagnosed my kids were 3, 5 and 7 I did so much research I may have driven my Dr. a little crazy but that is ok it is my body not his.

How Much More?

I believe I mentioned how when my oldest son broke his hand last October that no one in my husband’s family called to talk to him. We talked to the extended family and told them how upset he was that no one from that side of the family called him to check on him. Not one time during the 8 weeks that he was in a cast did his grandparents, aunt or uncle on my husband’s side called him to check on him. They all said they did not think it was important to call and check on him and … Continue reading

A Case of What Ifs

When you finish cancer treatment people will think that the worrying stops and that it was a page from a book that is closed. The reality is much different than everyone’s perception. The fact is that the fear never goes away. The possibility that the cancer can be somewhere in your body is just too scary to ignore. I have a friend from high school who was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer a few years before I was. She had a recurrence a few years later and has now been cancer free for about 5 or 6 … Continue reading

Still Need Information

As you may know I have tried to reach out to my kids’ biological mother to get information from her regarding their births and their biological dads. She provides information about 2 of our 3 kids but has still not replied to the questions that I asked about my third child or more details about her 2nd child. In my last entry I mentioned how my son George was delivered by emergency C-section when the doctor could not find a fetal heartbeat. Then he was hospitalized in the NICU for an infection for 2 ½ weeks. She said nothing about … Continue reading

13 Years Will It Get Better?

My 13th wedding anniversary is coming up next week and I see myself still waiting to see if things are going to get better with my husband’s side of the family. I think I may have officially have given up hope for that to happen. I am sitting here wondering where we go from here with them. Will things ever get better for my husband or the kids? I seriously doubt it. I do not care as much for me as I do for my husband and our kids. They are the ones that I feel bad for. You would … Continue reading

What Was She Thinking?

Today I am sitting here considering changing the school that my kids are currently attending. We had an incident at their current school yesterday that left me rather upset. My 10 year old son fell and landed on his shoulder and then another student fell on top of the same shoulder. He went to the school nurse and told her that the other student heard his shoulder pop as well and that he could not move his arm. The nurse said she would call me and he told her I was at school so she needed to call his Dad … Continue reading
