Baby Books: Who can keep up?

Scrapbooking is a wonderful way to express your creativity and keep treasured memories in reach. It encompasses two things I love; creative expression and photography. The marriage of the two is genius and one that will last a lifetime. Or so I thought. As much as I loved scrapbooking , I had no time to commit to the projects I wanted to complete. I have never finished a Christmas page, a birthday page or a baby page and my oldest is 13 years old. I love the idea but time prevents me from expressing my creativity with craft scissors, embellishments, and ribbon. In addition, it is an expensive hobby. A page costs more than a pack of diapers and I was always running low on diapers during the baby years.

So what’s a lazy poor scrapbooker to do?

Digital Scrapbooking: I have to admit I love this more than the traditional method of cutting and pasting. Scrapping digitally is easy and requires no glue or embellishments. All the embellishments you need are online. Copy and paste is less messy than cut and paste. I love just uploading my photos and making a fun page on a whim. I then add the pages to an online photo book and order!

Blogging: You can chronicle your baby’s growth by blogging about her. You can open a private password protected blog if you wish. You can give the password to family and friends so they can enjoy all your baby adventures, cute tootsies, and spit up stories.

Memory Box: If you prefer the traditional tangible method of chronicling your baby’s growth but lack the energy to scrap then a memory box may be for you. Quite simply, you place precious items in your box. You can keep the outfit you first brought your baby home in, cards from the shower, or a first Christmas outfit. The only drawback is if you keep items it may turn into a memory trunk.
