Baby On Board

Just call her the comeback kid. I’ve always admired former Growing Pains star Tracey Gold for her decision to go public with her battle against anorexia. With the help of her family and friends (and a hospital full of professionals) the actress overcame the disease, got married and started a family.

You might remember seeing Gold being proposed to on national television in 1993. Her then boyfriend Roby Marshall asked Gold to spend the rest of her life with him live in front of her entire family (and millions watching at home) on ABC’s Primetime Live. They were married the following year and went on to have three sons Sage, 10, Bailey, 8, and Aiden Michael, 3. Now, it appears Gold will soon be furthered outnumbered by males in her home.

The 38-year-old actress recently confirmed that she is expecting her fourth son early next spring. A few more boys and the Marshall’s will have enough for a legitimate baseball team.

Speaking of baseball… The Boston Globe is reporting that Red Sox GM Theo Epstein has been quietly telling people that his wife, Marie, is pregnant with the couple’s first child. Team officials would not comment on the pregnancy reports; however the paper duly noted that Epstein recently sold his three-bedroom condo in the heart of Boston and bought a five-bedroom home in an upscale suburb. Which may be a good idea despite adding to his family, considering reports that say since Epstein purchased the condo in 2004 he had his car vandalized numerous times and obscenities spray-painted on his building.

The Red Sox brass may be keeping mum about Epstein becoming a father, but the guys who sit in the front office at the Houston Astro’s headquarters are happily spreading the word that player Chris Burke and his wife Sara recently became new parents following the October 5th birth of their daughter Sidney Lynn.

Also last week Indy Car driver Ed Carpenter put the brakes on long enough to watch his wife Heather give birth to their first child, daughter Makenna Alayne. The new baby reportedly weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce and was 20 1/2 inches long.

And finally, former Tonic frontman Emerson Hart and his wife Nicole made headlines again following the birth of their first child. According to news reports, Lucienne Elizabeth Hart was born late last week and weighed in at a healthy 7 lbs, 11 oz.
