It may be one of the only memorable occasions in their relationship that hasn’t been televised (unless it makes it on TLC). I’m referring to the birth of “Bachelorette” couple Ryan and Trista Sutter’s baby boy.
According to US Weekly, the Sutter’s welcomed son Maxwell Alston into the world via c-section after a failed induction/stalled labor on Thursday night.
The baby was born four weeks early due to complications in the pregnancy, specifically, Trista’s diagnosis of preeclampsia and gestational diabetes. Baby Maxwell reportedly weighed in at 5 lbs, 3 oz. and measured 18 inches long. He was born in Vail, Colorado where the couple resides.
According to US Weekly, both mother and baby are “doing great.”
You may recall Ryan and Trista met on the first season of ABC’s “The Bachelorette” and were married on television in December of 2003. At that time Trista announced to the world that she couldn’t wait to carry Ryan’s baby, but as the reality TV star told reporters when she finally did conceive, you don’t have control over everything.
“It took us a long time to get pregnant so it makes it that much sweeter. It’s my dream to be a mom,” said Trista.
The couple said they did not want to know the baby’s gender before the birth and yesterday added that they were glad that they held out for it to be a surprise.
In other baby news…
Documentary filmmaker Rory Kennedy, the youngest of Bobby and Ethel Kennedy’s 11 children, and her husband, Mark Bailey recently welcomed their third child. Son Zachary Corkland Kennedy-Bailey weighed in at 8 lbs, 10 oz. He joins big sisters 4-year-old Georgia Elizabeth, and 3-year-old Bridget Katherine. By the way, baby Zachary is Ethel Kennedy’s 32nd grandchild.
And finally…
My best friend’s adult crush is also adding to his family. General Hospital’s Jason Gerhardt and his wife, Chalae, are reportedly expecting their second child this winter. The couple already has a 2-year-old daughter Madyson.
