Back Home: Owen Wilson and Usher

Less than a week after police say he attempted to end his life, actor Owen Wilson is reportedly back at home in Santa Monica this morning… but he’s not alone. According to news sources, the “Wedding Crashers” star is being watched around the clock.

“Owen is in bad mental shape but said he is thankful to be alive,” a source close to actor told reporters. “He knows he came close to ending his life, and he is happy that he was saved from himself. He is basically at home with people watching him 24/7.”

You’ll recall the 38-year-old actor was rushed to the hospital last Sunday after police responded to what they called a “suicide attempt” at Wilson’s residence. In the days since, Wilson has reportedly been under the watchful eye of medical professionals and has been visited by a steady stream of his A-list friends, including actors Wes Anderson and Woody Harrelson.

Meanwhile, across the country, R&B star Usher realized home is the place where he should be… to get hitched. Or, at least celebrate getting re-hitched. After his first attempt to tie the knot in a lavish no-expenses-spared event at music mogul L.A. Reid’s Hamptons estate was postponed at the last minute a few weeks back, Usher and his beloved Tameka Foster finally pulled off their dream wedding last night in their hometown of Atlanta.

The couple officially wed in a quiet civil ceremony (in Usher’s lawyer’s office) last month following their highly publicized wedding cancellation. Now it appears they’ve spent the ensuing weeks putting together a luxury shindig for friends and family.

“I’m thrilled that this is finally happening,” one guest told magazine reporters.

Usher and Foster (who is expecting the couple’s first child in a couple of months) reportedly exchanged vows again in front of about 200 people at an upscale 16th-century-style French chateau set on 3,500 acres of rolling hills outside Atlanta.

Among the guests were Oprah Winfrey’s BFF Gayle King and music manager Benny Medina. Noticeably missing was the groom’s mother, Jonetta Patton, who has been named by numerous sources as the reason for the first wedding’s cancellation. Usher’s mama reportedly considers Foster a “gold-digger.”

So what did Patton miss out on? According to news reports, Usher and Tameka’s guests enjoyed a lavish multi-course sit-down dinner inside the resort’s ballroom, which featured a five-tiered white chocolate-covered wedding cake by the same baker who made Eva Longoria’s wedding cake.

Maybe Usher saved a piece for his mama…
