Back to school brings loads of layouts, and dozens of opportunities to capture those memories. Need some fun poems that are perfect for back to school pages? Look no further.
Often I write my own poems for school pages. Sometimes they rhyme and sometimes they don’t. Here is a collection of poems I have in my back to school file collected from various sources.
The First Day
by Nicole Humphrey
Climbing up the steps so huge, she holds onto the rail,
I send her out in the great big world and pray she doesn’t fail.
Down the street, the big yellow bus fades away from sight,
I pray that I have done all I can to teach her wrong from right.
For now it’s time for big girl things, learning all about history,
Reading and Science and arithmetical wont’ be such a mystery.
But when she steps down off that bus, I’ll still be standing here,
And as the bus fades into the night, I’ll finally wipe this tear.

Each time I bring it
I wish I had bought it
But each time I buy it
I wish I had brought it.
My First Day
by Elise S. Lindgren
See me skip,
See me run,
I’m going to school like everyone.
See me smile,
See me grin,
When the bell rings, I walk in.
See me work,
See me play,
I’m in Kindergarten–
My first day!
School
by Frank Shaffer’s School Days
Today I hurry off to school,
To work and learn and play.
I’m in a brand new grade this year,
What a happy day!
Reading
by Author Unknown
Reading is in
Reading is rad
Reading is awesome
Reading’s not bad
Reading is knowledge
Reading is smart
Read about planets
Read about art
Read all you can
That’s the golden rule
Because only a fool
Is too cool for school
