Banana Split Ice Cream

I love banana splits, so when I saw this recipe, I knew it was something I had to try! It makes my mouth water just writing about it. There is fruit in it too, so while it is ice cream, at least the little ones will be getting something healthy from it.

For this recipe, you will need white sugar, all purpose flour, salt, one quart of white milk, one quart of chocolate milk, one 12 ounce can of evaporated milk, eggs, vanilla extract, two 10 ounce packages of frozen strawberries, three bananas, and one 15 ounce can of crushed pineapple.

To prep for this recipe, you will need to make sure your frozen strawberries are thawed. You will need to peel and dice the three bananas also.

In a medium bowl, beat six eggs. Place a heave saucepan over medium heat and combine 2 cups of white sugar, 3 tablespoons of all purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1 quart of milk, and the 12 ounce can of evaporated milk. Stir the mixture and as it cooks, it will begin to bubble around the edges and begin to get thicker. Remove the pan from the heat. Take a small bit of the milk and pour it slowly into the bowl with the eggs, stirring constantly. Once that is combined, pour the rest of the egg mixture into the pan with the milk mixture. Stir until it is well mixed.

To the saucepan, add 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract, one quart of chocolate milk, the two package of frozen strawberries, the diced bananas, and the 15 ounce can of crushed pineapple with the juice. Pour the whole thing into your ice cream machine’s freezer container. You can add a little milk if needed to reach the fill line. Put that in the freezer to chill then freeze according to the ice cream machine’s instructions.
